What is My Favorite Country?

When people learn that I had a thirty plus year airline career, they all ask me what was my favorite country. The answer I am sure, is always a surprising one. Working as an international Purser for a major airline, my 'job' took me to places like Beijing, China, Frankfurt, Germany, Mexico, Japan, the Ireland, Scotland, England, Hong Kong, Denmark, France, and many other cities around the world. What do airline people do when they get to a foreign country? We go shopping of course! Each city has a food item we all seem to stock up on each layover. Rome, for coffee, pasta and olive oil, Amsterdam for chocolates, and flowers, Paris, for macarons, and of course artwork can be found everywhere. I enjoyed the benefits of very inexpensive air travel when there was empty seats on nearly every flight, first class internationally served five course meals, including a caviar and chilled vodka course in first class, a meal that took up a couple hours of a long flight.

Well, to get to the answer of which country was my favorite to visit: It was Iran! The most hospitable, kind and gracious people, some of the best food and history you just cannot imagine. From Persepolis to Cyrus' Tomb to the enchanting city of Esfahan with it's Khaju bridge and of course Aligapu, truly the most spectacular of cities one can ever experience.

So, please take a click on over to this page to learn more about Esfahan, Iran and see for your self by at least checking this wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isfahan
